The decentralisation of general practice education has resulted in general practice teaching and mentoring becoming a real career path for any GP as either a supervisor or a medical educator. General practitioners need to develop education skills as an integral part of their professional repertoire.At NT General Practice Education medical students junior doctors and GPRs are educated and trained using the vertical integration model. There are many opportunities for GPRs to contribute to organisation whilst develop professional skills in teaching and learning through engagement in one or all of these programs.

Family Planning
This post is undertaken at Family Planning NT in Darwin. A daily part of general practice consultations centres around family planning. Training at this post will provide Registrars with the opportunity to provide contraception and fertility advice, sexual health checks and information, pregnancy tests, pap tests and breast checks.
