Conferences

Northern Territory General Practice Education offers a wide range of educational activities including orientation to General practice in the NT; twice-yearly conferences; supported small group learning sessions and external clinical teacher visits. All education activities delivers RACGP and ACRRM curriculum in an integrated approach.

Conferences

As part of NTGPE's educational activities it facilitates a biannual workshop program. The team of Medical Educators and Cultural Educators develops the worqkshop program in conjunction with the Registrar Liaison Officer and Registrars in the training program.

Workshops are specifically developed to suit the GP registrars’ training needs and to provide participants with professional development opportunities. The workshops are generally conducted over a three day period in regional centres across the Northern Territory. NTGPE provides accommodation and transport to the workshops and coordinates all activities associated with the program, including side trips and time out for reflection. The workshop program is extensive, exciting and stimulating and provides registrars with real life experiences drawn from a dedicated and experienced team.

This session is NTGPE’s for GP Registrars new to general practice and/or new to the training program. It is held over two days at NTGPE's office located in Darwin. It includes medical and cultural orientation, support information and introduction to formative assessment tools, feedback processes, video consulting skills and session plan development.

These biannual workshops are conducted over three days and generally occur in Darwin and Alice Springs. NTGPE’s Medical and Cultural education team coordinates a program of educational and professional development opportunities that complements on job learning in the practice.
