2016 Application Process

It is important that you note that the placement application process for 2016 has significantly changed since previous years. This is a direct outcome from feedback received from GP Registrars and Training Posts.

This website will detail the number of placements available at each clinic (including GPT/PRRT year) and useful information about living in the community/region. Please note the placement information on this website will not be current until 8am, 1 June.

The Placement Guide only provides information about the Training Posts and their capacity for 2016.

  • You will be required to have discussions and apply for training opportunities directly with clinics.
  • Please view all the information on this website prior to contacting Training Posts.
  • GP Registrars are requested to send their CV and cover letter directly to the Application Contact indicated on the Placement Guide.
  • NTGPE will be taking an arms’ length approach to negotiations between clinics and GP Registrars, but will be available for individual contact if sought to ensure you are selecting clinics appropriate to your training requirements.

Once you have been made an offer from a Training Post, you will need to notify NTGPE of your intention to accept by completing an online Placement Intention Form. This is so we can ensure that the term meets your specific training requirements. NTGPE will respond within two business days to confirm the suitability of the placement. If the placement is deemed not suitable NTGPE will advise you by phone and notify by email including the Training Post.

Placement Intention Forms

  • For 6 months placements at two different Training Posts in Term 1 and Term 2 you are required to complete two separate Placement Intention Forms. Placement Intention Forms are to be completed and submitted separately on receipt of offer.
  • For a 12 months placement at the same Training Post you are required to complete one Placement Intention Form on receipt of offer.
