Ada Wilmadda Parry Aboriginal Health Scholarship

About:
This scholarship awards excellence and commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health in the NT. It acknowledges the dedicated work of Ada Wilmadda Parry, one of the first Cultural Educators for NTGPE.

Ada Wilmadda Parry:
Ada was born at the Daly River Mango Farm. She was the last of her family to be born the traditional way under a tree with her two grandmothers tending to her mother. Her father was a traditional member of the Marrithiyel Tribe of Woodikapuldiya; in 1987 he was awarded NT Aboriginal of the Year.

Value:
$10,000

Criteria:
• GP registrars either training with NTGPE or another accredited regional training organisation.
• GP registrars can use this scholarship as part of their ARST or AST.

Submission:
Submission can be a self-nomination or via another person i.e. practice manager, GP supervisor etc, and include:
• A 300-800 word document, audio or video entry that outlines the project plan you wish to undertake and how it will benefit Indigenous health in the NT;
• Details of your plans for ongoing work in Indigenous health after training;
• Curriculum Vitae; and
• Two (2) referees and their details (name, role, contact etc).

At the close of deadline the NTGPE scholarship committee (the committee) will read all submissions. Shortlisted applicants will be required to have a panel interview where they will present their project proposal to the committee and take questions. Panel Interviews can be conducted by videoconference if required.
