Conferences, Workshops and Support

As part of NTGPE’s ongoing education commitment to GP Supervisors, NTGPE hosts an annual conference to enhance and support GP training and supervision. NTGPE provides all travel and accommodation associated with conference participation and provides a sessional fee to conference participants for attendance on the days that coincide with normal business hours. The end of each conference culminates with a Supervisors dinner.

In addition NTGPE has developed strategic partnerships with Centre for Medical & Health Sciences Education Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at Monash University for the delivery of the Graduate Certificate in Health Professional Education and the Master of Health Professional Education and Flinders University for the delivery of the Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma of Clinical Education. GP Supervisors are able to enroll in theses courses and two scholarships are offered annually.

NTGPE also offers opportunities for GP Supervisors to attend national GP education events such as the GPET Convention and the RACGP’s annual national GP Supervisors workshop.

To maintain effective communication and remain abreast with current issues NTGPE conducts quarterly teleconferences with all Supervisors involved in GP supervision. The teleconferences are facilitated by the GP Supervisor Liaison Officer who will contact all Supervisors for suggested agenda items and present items for discussion.

NTGPE also announces its GP Supervisor / Practice Manager Professional Development Workshops for 2013.
