Preparation for the FRACGP/FACRRM written exam
This is a one-day course with a specific focus on IMG needs. It allows time and a safe environment for IMGs to discuss and analyse written exam questions, its structure, its language and its intentions.
The objectives of this course are to:
- Give you an overview of the written RACGP exam;
- Allow you to understand the structure of written exam question types and why we use them;
- Provide tips for an approach to each question type (MCQ, EMQ, AKT and KFP);
- Discuss language commonly used that may be confusing for non-native English speakers; and
- Allow time to discuss written exam questions. Target audience: Those planning to sit the FRACGP/FACRRM exams.
Individual Learning Plan (ILP)
The aim of this document is to assist you to prepare a learning plan for re-entry into the GP workforce. Target audience: Those working or about to work in general practice.
Peer Group Learning (PGL)
IMGs meet on a regular basis to discuss topics of particular relevance to IMGs, and are agreed by the group. Topics may be decided at the beginning of the year. The session may be recorded for future reference by IMGs and by those who could not attend the session. Target audience: Those working or about to work in general practice.
MiniCEX (workplace assessment)
External Clinical Teachers and IMGs are encouraged to set up 2 mini-CEX encounters during the year. Each Mini-CEX is a ‘formative’ assessment opportunity for observation feedback and learning. Follow-up sessions will provide teachers and learners with an opportunity to review progress overall and in specific areas. Target audience: Those working or about to work in general practice.
Support and mentoring for further education/training and self directed learning
Administration and educator staff will provide responsive support and mentoring.
