The Tennant Creek General Practice (TCGP) has been established in ‘The Golden Heart of the Northern Territory’.
The TCGP is a health facility of the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) providing primary health care services to residents and visitors of the Tennant Creek Township and surrounding Barkly region.
The practice provides a large range of medical services from standard consultations, medicals and health assessments, to immunizations, minor surgery, antenatal care and women’s health combined with a strong focus on chronic disease management.
TCGP has an ongoing commitment to working closely with allied health care professionals and medical specialists to continue providing strong primary health care to remote Australia.
TCGP continues to explore innovative and superior ways to provide holistic health care using up-to-date resources giving our patients access to the best medicine possible.
The current preparations for AGPAL Accreditation are proving to make TCGP a far more efficient, reliable and effective primary health care facility.

Tennant Creek is a well-resourced township. The Tennant Creek Hospital provides an acute care service (including 20 inpatient beds). Other facilities include: 2 banks, a post office, supermarket, 2 petrol stations, RSL club, varied sports facilities, mechanic and tyre centre, restaurants, take-away store, primary and high schools.
