Road:
The road from Alice Springs to Yuelamu is both sealed and unsealed. The access road to Yuelamu is via the Tanami Highway off the Stuart Highway. The first 145 km from the Stuart Highway is sealed with the next 117km being dirt.
Seasonal Access:
Subject to washaways during heavy rainfall, particularly where it crosses the natural depressions and minor waterways.

Yuelamu Community has a Health Service called Yuelamu. It is Territory Health Service controlled. The health Service is in the Central Region. The Health Service Area does have outstations, which are visited as needed. The community has 1 vehicle allocated to the Health Centre. This is a 4WD Troop Carrier with ambulance facilities such as a stretcher, oxygen and suction. Medical evacuations are done (first choice) by Air by day and (second choice) are by road to Yuendumu.
The Health Centre is permanent and has 4 areas. The facilities are adequate. The Health Centre has 1 female and 1 male consulting room
A DMO is on call at all hours in Alice Springs. For phone consultations and evacuations
