Hermannsburg is located on the Larapinta Drive approximately125km West of Alice Springs. Larapinta Drive is sealed all theway to Hermannsburg; however, there is a 32km portion of single lane
Seasonal Access:
In periods of heavy rain, Larapinta Drive can be cut by waterflowing over the Finke River, Hugh River, Jay Creek and Ellery Creek crossings.
Health Centre Info:
There is a Health Council at Ntaria, which is known as the Western Arranta health Council and was formed in 1993. The Health Centre is permanent and has 19 rooms, including bathrooms and storerooms. It was previously the old Strehlow Memorial hospital, which was opened in 1955. It was extensively renovated in 1999 to make it more functional as a community health centre with separate areas for men and women, a bigger kid’s area, improved office space, better bathrooms and separate toilets.

Westpac Bank outlet provided at the Ntaria Store. There are two supermarkets at Hermannsburg; the Ntaria Store and theFinke River Mission Store. The Ntaria Store is clean and generally well stocked for acommunity store. General groceries, bread, milk, etc., can bepurchased from the store. The store is open seven days aweek between 8.30am and 5.30pm.
