Top End RUSC Teleconferences:

Wednesday afternoons: 2.30pm - 3.30pm

Every Wednesday afternoon between 2.30 - 3.30 pm, the cultural educator and medical educator host a teleconference. All medical students undergoing placements in the Top End are expected to participate in these teleconferences unless they have a valid reason for being elsewhere. Students who have already undertaken a placement in the Top End and are currently undertaking their second or more placement, are invited to participate

The purpose of this weekly teleconference is to provide continuing cultural and medical education, to provide support and mentoring to students, and to allow students in different locations to share their experiences with each other.

At each teleconference one (or two) students present a case study about any cultural or medical issue that they may have encountered during their placement. Once the case study has been introduced all of the teleconference participants are encouraged to talk about the various issues.
