Top End RUSC - Scholarships:
• John Flynn Scholarship Scheme
• RAMUS

John Flynn Scholarship Scheme:
Students may also be placed in communities under the John Flynn Scholarship program. This national scheme is funded by Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM). It was established in 1997 to allow medical students the opportunity to take up vacation placements in rural communities and in particular to return to the placement each year for four consecutive years.
Such a commitment enables the student to foster a long term relationship with the community. Placement of John Flynn scholars are coordinated with RUSC students by NTGPE to ensure cultural safety and support for JFSS students, and to ensure that the communities receive students at a manageable rate. The JFSS and RUSC project coordinators work closely together to achieve this aim.

Rural Australia Medical Undergraduate
Scholarship Scheme:
The Rural Australia Medical Undergraduate Scholarship (RAMUS) Scheme is a Commonwealth Government initiative aimed to encourage students who come from designated rural areas to pursue a career in medicine.
RAMUS reduces the financial burden faced by rural medical students and their families. The scholarship holders receive $10,000 each year during their medical studies to assist with accommodation, living and travel expenses.
Scholarships are available to students in any year of a medical degree and are not bonded.
Scholarships of $10,000 paid annually in each year of the medical course, are available each year to students with a rural background. These scholarships are open to students who have had a principal home address in a rural area for a minimum of five consecutive years.
