International Medical Graduates:
New RACGP Affiliate Membership Category to support International Medical School Graduates:
The RACGP has established a new membership category to provide Permanent Resident International Medical Graduates with an opportunity to access educational services and professional support. Doctors eligible to join the RACGP under this new Affiliate category must be International Medical Graduates with permanent residency in Australia and who are not currently registered as a medical practitioner nor eligible for registration as a medical practitioner in Australia. The College currently has many International Medical Graduates members who are registered to practice in Australia and who can join the College as full members. There is also a need to expand the support of the College to International Medical Graduates who are currently not able to practice, but who are working towards that goal. Our International Medical Graduate Affiliates members will gain access to resources to assist and support them in their move towards achieving FRACGP. This College initiative is in response to a steady stream of enquiries from Permanent Resident International Medical Graduates keen to join the RACGP and to access College benefits including gplearning, check and Australian Family Physician.
