This practice is based within the northern suburbs of Darwin and services a very mixed population. It also provides sessional cover to Bagot Community Health Clinic located in Darwin between the airport and the sea.

Dr MacDonald has a special interest in sports medicine and services the NT Football league and Rugby leagues. The practice also covers Juninga (a community controlled old person’s facility) and provides medical assistance for home-birth midwives and a full range of minor procedures in the general practice. The practice is open on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

There is a full time practice nurse who offers family planning advice and immunisation as well as other practice nurse services.

This practice conducts medical checks [eg pilots, diving, driving medicals] and there is ample opportunity for a Registrar to gain extra experience in paediatrics, dermatology, antenatal care, Aboriginal health, and gynaecology. ECG spirometry, audiometry, diathermy, and liquid nitrogen cryotherapy facilities are available.

A formal tutorial is offered each week as well as other face to face teaching by the general practitioners working in the practice. Patient load for Registrars is about twenty per day in basic terms rising to twenty five in advanced terms.
