In January 2015 NTGPE introduced myGPcommunity. NTGPE has, as its primary role, the requirement to address the Northern Territory’s community health needs. The creation of communities as a learning and education model keeps the community focus firmly at the core of everything that we do.
Approximately 75% of our 59 new GP Registrars in 2015 were International Medical Graduates, therefore wise decisions had to be made to effectively manage the increased numbers of GP Registrars.
A key focus for myGPcommunity is to reduce the need for administrative work and give everyone in the community more time for educational activities.
myGPcommunity is an accessible online system for all those involved in GP Registrar training (including GP Supervisors, GP Registrars, Medical Educators, Stakeholders and NTGPE Support Staff) to:
- share knowledge;
- share ideas;
- share training resources;
- share learning modules;
- track activities seamlessly;
- promote a sense of belonging; and
- support increased GP Registrar intake in a sustainable way.
myGPcommunity supports individual learning journeys, sustains NTGPE’s commitment to individual well being, and also encourages sharing and promotes a sense of belonging.
