About Us

Overview

NTGPE works with accredited, experienced GP Supervisors in placement posts offered to GP registrars. The GP Supervisors who support the training program are based in urban and rural mainstream general practices, regional hospitals, Aboriginal Medical Services and Community Controlled Health Services throughout the Northern Territory.

To support GP Supervisors, NTGPE host conferences twice annually in Darwin and Alice Springs and ensures those new to supervision are provided with appropriate up-skilling on adult learning techniques, the NTGPE Supervisors Handbook, as well as the teaching guidelines from AGPT and the RACGP. The GP Supervisor Liaison Officer at NTGPE is Dr Amalie Andropov.

New supervisors are provided with a face-to-face orientation to supervision and registrar training by the Supervisor Liaison Officer introducing Learning Tools, required standards and other resources to assist supervision.

If you are interested in becoming a Supervisor and hosting GP Registrars in your practice please contact Dr Amalie Andropov on amalie.andropov@ntgpe.org to discuss education requirements, supervisor orientation and training and indemnity/liability issues. For all administration and accreditation requirements please email accreditation@ntgpe.org.
